BAYLORIC “The Takeoff” to be Shown on SKY
Baylor International Champions (BaylorIC), an organisation based in High Wycombe (U.K), have teamed up with 4 Media Students from Oprington College to produce “The Takeoff.” The programme includes interviews from the young people who relate their feelings about cricket, what brought them into the game and what inspires them to keep going. The aim of the production is to encourage more primary school kids to take part in sport, regardless of their ability or background.
The dove shown in this video is symbolic of freedom, which we at BaylorIC want all our players to be able to experience, so that they may more fully enjoy learning and playing cricket. We recognize that in today’s digital world, many kids are at greater risk of an unhealthy lifestyle, while other kids might be tempted to make poor choices, leading to a life of hardship or crime. We want to make a REAL difference at BaylorIC by providing sport and educational opportunities for young people. In addition to coaching, BaylorIC also seeks to encourage young cricketers to get involved with their local cricket club to continue their development and play league cricket.
We hope to visit as many schools in the UK as possible and set up cricket development programs; our hope being to benefit the local community by establishing strong club links with local cricket clubs and schools. BaylorIC currently delivers cricket in primary, secondary and schools for boys and girls. Coaches are fully recognised by the English Cricket board (ECB) and have been CRB Checked. A range of coaching packages are delivered specifically for schools including curriculum time coaching, breakfast, lunch time and after school clubs. Primary school sessions are delivered in the form of Kwik Cricket, with all basic cricketing skills being taught; batting, bowling, and fielding. Secondary school sessions are delivered in the form Hard Ball Cricket, with basic through to advanced skills being taught.
